I learned so much from this experience to carry with me in the future. As a child studies and psychology major, I am passionate about family wellbeing and healthy development. Through All Across Africa, I found that supporting a woman means supporting her family because I heard, saw, and analyzed data to prove that these female artisans invest in their families’ nutrition, schooling, and housing. As a result, I have a deep, newfound interest in female economic development that I aim to pursue. Moreover, I am in love with the field of social entrepreneurship which I found to be sustainable, dignifying, and socially and economically empowering. |
I want to be apart of the movement that disrupts an unjust equilibrium. I feel the most joy and fulfillment when exploring new places and investing myself into meaningful work. I hope to return to social entrepreneurship in my near future.
I can’t imagine myself pursuing a life other than the one that I have...a life that combines service with adventure. But as of now, I don’t have a clear path before me. I trust that pursuing my passion with each next step will lead me to the right destination. It will continue to be an adventure in itself to discover my vocation. After all, vocation incorporates lifestyle and how we define ourselves as individuals. I’m still growing and developing the skills to best apply myself in the future. Coming out of this fellowship, I believe in all people, including those in poverty and those living on the margins. And I believe in myself to contribute to them and this world meaningfully. |
